There are 2 canoes and 4 kayaks.  Just exploring the island archipaelago is great fun. There are numerous places to get out and roam or picnic on many of these islands. 

Algonquin Park High Falls Hike

The eastern gate of Algonquin Park is a half hour drive from Petawawa.  There is a 45 minute hike on a gentle slope to an exquisite natural waterslide into separate pools.

The Ottawa River has world class rafting and kayaking outfits.  www.wildernesstours.com is one of them.  About an hour's drive from Petawawa, it would be easy to go for a day.  They have gentle family to high adventure levels.  There is also Owl Rafting, and River Run Rafting at the same place.

Oiseau Rock

$250 FOR THE DAY FOR A PARTY OF 6 OR LESS.  INCLUDES PICNIC AT A BEACH

Take a scenic ride on a houseboat up the Ottawa River to Oiseau Rock.  This is an amazing day trip because not only is the ride breathtaking, but there is a beach with picnic tables, a half hour climb to a height with a view for miles and a clear spring fed meteorite lake to swim in at the top.

 Beautiful public beaches with shallow cleanwater are available by boat and by car, minutes away.  Black Bear Beach has amenities.

 Fish Find and Feast

$50 PER PERSON, MAXIMUM 3

Enjoy a day of fishing with a pro in his Lund fishing boat, then watch him fillet and fry the catch...then enjoy!  Mostly pickerel.  You need a fishing license (local store) unless you are under 18.  Maximum of 4 people.
